CAT Response Sheet Analyzer

Upload your CAT response sheet to calculate your section-wise raw score for VARC, DILR and QA.

About the CAT score calculator

This calculator reads your CAT response sheet, compares each response with the official answer key and applies the IIM marking scheme, so you can see your section-wise raw score for VARC, DILR and QA and your overall score before the results come out.

Marking scheme used by the calculator

SectionQuestionsMarking
Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC)24MCQ: +3 / −1 · TITA: +3 / 0
Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR)22MCQ: +3 / −1 · TITA: +3 / 0
Quantitative Ability (QA)22MCQ: +3 / −1 · TITA: +3 / 0

68 questions, 204 marks, 120 minutes with 40 minutes per section. TITA (type-in-the-answer) questions have no negative marking. The final CAT score is normalised across slots, so your raw score can differ from the scaled score.

How to calculate your score

  1. Download your response sheet from the CAT candidate portal after the answer key is released.
  2. Upload it or paste its link into the analyzer above.
  3. The tool applies +3 for correct answers, −1 for wrong MCQs and 0 for wrong TITA answers.
  4. Review your section-wise raw score and compare it with previous years' percentile data.

Frequently asked questions

How is the CAT raw score calculated?

Each correct answer earns 3 marks. A wrong MCQ answer costs 1 mark, while wrong TITA answers carry no penalty. Your raw score is the sum across VARC, DILR and QA.

Why is my CAT raw score different from my final score?

CAT is held in multiple slots, so IIMs normalise raw scores to account for differences in difficulty. The calculator shows your raw score; the scaled score and percentile are published in the result.

Does TITA have negative marking in CAT?

No. Type-in-the-answer questions carry +3 for a correct answer and 0 for a wrong one.
