AFCAT is conducted by the Indian Air Force for selection of officers in Flying, Technical, and Ground Duty branches of the IAF. It is held twice a year.

Application Date: December-January and June-July annually

Result Date: After AFSB interview

Eligibility

Graduates with specific educational backgrounds based on the branch applied for. Age limit: 20-26 years (Flying Branch), 20-26 years (Technical), 20-26 years (Ground Duty). Specific degree requirements apply.

  • Verbal Ability in English: Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms, Testing of Vocabulary
  • Numerical Ability: Decimal Fraction, Time and Work, Average, Profit & Loss, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Simple Interest
  • Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test: Spatial Ability, Rotated Blocks, Hidden Figures, Distance and Direction Sense, Pattern Recognition
